FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from engineers and procurement managers sourcing custom magnets.

What is the minimum order quantity for custom neodymium magnets?
Our MOQ is 100 pieces for standard custom shapes and 50 pieces for prototype or R&D samples. For large-volume orders (10,000+ pcs), we offer dedicated production scheduling and priority lead times. Contact us to discuss your specific volume requirements.
How long does it take to manufacture custom neodymium magnets? +
Standard lead time is 7–15 business days after drawing approval. Rush production (3–5 business days) is available for urgent requirements. Prototype batches are typically completed within 3–5 days. Lead times may vary for unusual grades or very large dimensions.
What file formats do you accept for custom magnet drawings? +
We accept DWG, DXF, STEP (.STP), IGES, and PDF. If you don't have CAD drawings, our engineers can work from dimension sketches or physical samples. We provide a free DFM (Design for Manufacturability) review with every inquiry — flagging any issues before production begins.
Can you manufacture magnets for high-temperature applications? +
Yes. We manufacture the full range of high-temperature NdFeB grades: M series (100°C max), H series (120°C), SH series (150°C), UH series (180°C), EH series (200°C), and AH series (230°C). For temperatures above 230°C, we also manufacture Samarium Cobalt (SmCo) magnets. Learn about high-temperature magnet grades →
Do you provide material certifications and test reports? +
Yes. Every shipment includes: dimensional inspection report, magnetic performance test data (Br, Hcj, BHmax), Certificate of Conformance, RoHS and REACH compliance declaration, and MSDS. PPAP documentation, FMEA, and Control Plans are available for automotive customers.
What coatings are available for custom neodymium magnets? +
Standard coatings: Nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni), Zinc, Epoxy (various colors), Phosphate. Specialty coatings: Gold, Silver, Parylene C/D (medical-grade), Chrome, Copper. Uncoated magnets are available for applications requiring subsequent treatments. Coating selection depends on your operating environment and temperature range.
How do I choose the right neodymium magnet grade for my application? +
Grade selection depends on three factors: required magnetic strength (BHmax), maximum operating temperature, and budget. Higher N-numbers mean stronger magnets but also higher cost. High-temperature suffixes (M, H, SH, UH, EH, AH) add Dysprosium or Terbium to maintain coercivity at elevated temperatures. Share your application and our engineers recommend the optimal grade — at no charge. Read our complete grade selection guide →
